Regular Season Round 11: Miskolc - ZTE NKK 90-57

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked ZTE NKK (0-8) was crushed on the road by sixth ranked Miskolc (5-3) 90-57 on Wednesday. Miskolc dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE NKK's 34. Miskolc forced 20 ZTE NKK turnovers and outrebounded them 39-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by ZTE NKK's players. ZTE NKK was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was international center Angelika Kiss (192-1) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Franka Toth (170-1) chipped in 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Miskolc players scored in double figures. Bosnian point guard Miljana Dzombeta (175-94) produced 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and forward Petra Szabo (184-87) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Miskolc moved-up to fourth place. ZTE NKK lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Miskolc will face Uni Gyor (#6) at home in the next round. ZTE NKK will play against the league's second-placed Csata (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
