Regular Season Round 6: Dynamo K. - MBA 87-66

PBL top team - Dynamo Kursk (7-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed seventh ranked MBA (1-4) 87-66. Dynamo Kursk dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to MBA's 32. Dynamo Kursk forced 20 MBA turnovers and had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American center Stephanie Mavunga (191-95, college: Ohio St., agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. The other American import guard Arike Ogunbowale (173-97, college: Notre Dame) contributed with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Center Alexandra Tarasova (192-91) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds and the former international swingman Alexandra Stolyar (180-92) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for MBA. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dynamo Kursk have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. MBA at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Dynamo Kursk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. MBA will play on the road against Spartak Noginsk (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
