Important game to mention about took place in Limassol. Fourth ranked Phoenix (3-3) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Anagennises (1-5) 51-50 on Sunday evening. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 13-10 run, which allowed them to win the game. Phoenix forced 25 Anagennises turnovers. It was a great evening for American forward Wendi Bibbins (185-94, college: Indiana St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 21 rebounds. Mezra Torlak (172-2) helped adding 3 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Phoenix's coach Pantelis Konstantinou allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-95, college: CBU) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals and Bulgarian power forward Styliana Velinova (191-0) scored 5 points and 8 rebounds. Phoenix maintains fourth place with 3-3 record. Anagennises lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with five games lost. Phoenix will play against league's leader Anorthosis in Larnaca in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anagennises' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Limassol AEL.
