No shocking result in a game in Vidnoye where second ranked Samara (8-2) defeated 12th ranked Sparta&K-2 V (2-8) 67-50 on Tuesday. Samara forced 22 Sparta&K-2 V turnovers and outrebounded them 39-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Yana Mitrofanova (186-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 5 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Natalya Yasivichene (185-90) helped adding 13 points. Swingman Anna Kuznetsova (177-1) responded with 10 points and 6 assists and guard Arina Kazakova (174-0) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Samara. Newly promoted Samara maintains second place with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Rostov, which they share with Kazanochka. Loser Sparta&K-2 V dropped to the thirteenth position with eight games lost. Samara will meet Dynamo-Farm (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sparta&K-2 V will play against Kazanochka (#3) and hope to secure a win.
