Regular Season Round 11: Spartak SP - Rostov 54-92

Undefeated leader Rostov recorded the tenth consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time they crushed 7th ranked Spartak SP (4-5) 92-54 in Sankt Petersburg. Rostov dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak SP's 34. Rostov forced 21 Spartak SP turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Spartak SP's players. It was a great evening for international power forward Anna Zaitceva (182-99) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Alexandra Kirina (190-96) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Rostov players scored in double figures. Forward Diana Popova (183-97) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the former international power forward Natalia Vodopianova (188-81) scored 4 points and 12 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Rostov. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Spartak SP lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with five games lost. Rostov will meet Chernye Medv. (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Spartak SP will play against Peresvet and hope to secure a win.
