Regular Season Round 13: Samara-2 - Zenit-2 85-76

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Zenit-2 (10-6) against seventh ranked Samara-2 (7-9) on Tuesday night. Visiting Zenit-2 was defeated by Samara-2 in a tough game in Samara 76-85. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zenit-2 won third quarter 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Danila Chikarev (197-1) who helped to win the game recording 38 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Forward Yegor Zakharov (198-1) contributed with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Ivan Belousov (199-1) answered with 27 points and 8 rebounds and guard Konstantin Shevchuk (190-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 6 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Zenit-2. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Samara-2 went down to ninth position due to points difference. Zenit-2 at the other side keeps the second place with six games lost. Samara-2 will play against league's leader Lokomotiv-2 in Krasnodar in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zenit-2 will play on the road against Avtodor-2 in Saratov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
