Not a big story in a game in Moscow where 12th ranked Unics-2 (3-12) was defeated by eighth ranked Runa-2 (7-6) 63-57 on Thursday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Unics-2 was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Runa-2 dominated on the defensive end, holding Unics-2 to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Unics-2 41-27 including 20 on the offensive glass. Unics-2 was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Ilya Bogdanov (198-1) fired a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Forward Nikita Troshin (202-2) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Sergey Drakovskiy (192-1) produced 15 points and guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Runa-2 moved-up to seventh place, which they share with MBA-2. Unics-2 lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Runa-2 will face again bottom-ranked Unics-2 (#12) in Kazan in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
