Very predictable result when seventh ranked Spartak SP (5-5) won against 12th ranked Peresvet (2-7) in Sankt Petersburg 76-66. Spartak SP forced 23 Peresvet turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by Peresvet helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Elena Melnikova (175-88) who scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Evgenia Oksner (165-90) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Spartak SP players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Belarusian swingman Arina Masko (179-99) who recorded 15 points and 6 rebounds and center Irina Litvinenko (189-96) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Spartak SP moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Chernye Medv. Peresvet lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Spartak SP's next round opponent will be MBA-2 (#8) in Moscow. Peresvet will play at home against UMMC Junior (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
