Bottom-ranked AEL (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to eighth ranked APOP (3-6) 102-100 on Saturday evening. APOP looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: ETSU) fired 53 points (!!!) for the winners. The other American import point guard TJ Washington (183-96, college: Utah Valley) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 20 assists. American Josh Ferguson (203-96, college: Winthrop) produced a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Puerto Rican point guard Ivan Gandia-Rosa (185-97, college: N.Florida) added 18 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Four APOP and five AEL players scored in double figures. APOP moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Etha. Loser AEL still closes the standings with eight games lost. APOP will meet at home higher ranked E.N. Paralimni (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AEL will have a break next round.
