Very predictable result when third ranked Runa Basket (8-3) won against 10th ranked Vostok-65 (3-5) in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk 76-72 on Monday. The winners were led by guard Fedor Klyuchnikov (193-90) who scored that evening 17 points and 4 steals and American guard Addison Spruill (199-93, college: UNCW, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) supported him with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Four Runa Basket players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds by Belarusian forward Alexandr Semenyuk (207-93) did not help to save the game for Vostok-65. Guard Aleksey Golyahov (189-84) added 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Runa Basket have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Vostok-65 lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Runa Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Vostok-65 will play against CSKA 2 (#13) in Moscow and hope to secure a win.
