The game between third ranked AEK Larnaca (8-3) and 8th ranked Etha (3-8) in Larnaca on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. AEK Larnaca outscored guests from Nicosia 106-64. The game without a history. AEK Larnaca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AEK Larnaca outrebounded Etha 49-23 including a 33-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. AEK Larnaca looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Etha's players. The winners were led by the former international guard Andreas Sizopoulos (190-83) who scored that evening 37 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American forward DeJon Davis (201-98, college: CBU) supported him with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Even 27 points and 9 rebounds by American power forward Eden Ewing (204-97, college: Texas Southern) did not help to save the game for Etha. His fellow American import guard Chris McNeal (185-97, college: Cincinnati) added 9 points and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Larnaca have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 8-3 record behind leader Apollon. Etha lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with eight games lost. AEK Larnaca will meet APOP (#6) in the next round. Etha will play against the league's second-placed Keravnos and hope to secure a win.
