The most important game in the last round took place in Szekesfehervar between second ranked Kormend (7-3) and sixth ranked Alba (5-1) on Wednesday night. Kormend was defeated by Alba in a tough game on the road 82-91. Alba made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ronald Curry (193-93, college: JMU) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). International swingman David Vojvoda (195-90) contributed with 26 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. American power forward Travis Taylor (203-90, college: Xavier) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Xavier Thames (191-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) added 14 points and 9 assists in the effort for Kormend. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kormend's coach Ziga Mravljak rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Alba have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 5-1 record. Kormend at the other side keeps the second place with three games lost. Alba are looking forward to face higher ranked Szolnok (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Kormend will play against Szedeak in Szeged and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
