Regular Season Round 11: Boncourt - Nyon 97-77

Bottom-ranked Nyon (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-77 loss to seventh ranked Boncourt (3-6) in Boncourt. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Nyon's 26. They outrebounded Nyon 43-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. Nyon was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Devin Cooper (189-97, college: Catawba) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (206-85, college: Purdue) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Boncourt players scored in double figures. Senegalese forward Maleye NDoye (202-80, college: Furman) answered with 30 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Jeff Dufour (192-96) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Nyon. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boncourt moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lugano. Nyon lost their eighth game in a row. They still close the standings with eight games lost. Boncourt will play against higher ranked Fribourg (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Nyon will play against Fribourg (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
