Regular Season Round 13: Etha - Keravnos 57-99
Date: December 20, 2020
The game in Nicosia supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Keravnos (9-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Etha (3-9). Keravnos smashed Etha 99-57. The game without a history. Keravnos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 18. Keravnos shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Etha's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Simon Michail (184-92) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Keravnos players scored in double figures. American guard Chris McNeal (185-97, college: Cincinnati) answered with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Constantinos Orfanos (195-1) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Etha. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Keravnos have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Etha lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost. Keravnos' next round opponent will be APOP (#7) in Paphou which should be theoretically another easy game. Etha will play on the road against Apoel in Nicosia and hope to win that game.
