Regular Season Round 13: Dynamo-MGTU - Chelbasket 70-89

The most shocking disappointment of round 13 in the Superleague 2 was a home defeat of 4th placed Dynamo-MGTU (7-5) by eighth ranked Chelbasket (5-7) who outscored them by 19 points 89-70. It ended the five-game winning streak of Dynamo-MGTU. Chelbasket dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo-MGTU's 28. They outrebounded Dynamo-MGTU 46-35 including 33 on the defensive glass. Andrey Loginov (204-93) stepped up and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and swingman Yegor Tikanov (194-92) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Ukrainian center Nikolay Eremin (204-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and center Yuriy Kochnev (209-89) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Dynamo-MGTU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chelbasket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Dynamo STV and Rusichi K. Dynamo-MGTU at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Metallurg MGN. Chelbasket is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Mitsu B. (#11) in Lipetsk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dynamo-MGTU will play on the road against Rusichi K. (#7) in Kursk and is hoping to win this game.
