Bottom-ranked AEL is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 13th consecutive match to sixth ranked Omonia (5-7) 89-63 on Wednesday evening. The game without a history. Omonia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 AEL turnovers and outrebounded them 46-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. Omonia looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Stokley Chaffee (204-96, college: Tennessee St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 18 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Point guard Nick Garth (183-96, college: Lamar) accounted for 23 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Power forward Damani Applewhite (203-97, college: SC State) came up with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Josh Ferguson (203-96, college: Winthrop) added 7 points and 14 rebounds respectively for AEL in the defeat. Omonia maintains sixth place with 5-7 record. AEL lost their thirteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 13 games lost. Omonia will meet at home APOP (#7) in the next round. AEL will play against Apoel in Nicosia and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
