Important game to mention about took place in Yaroslav. Sixth ranked Kupol-Rodniki (8-6) saved a 2-point derby victory on the road edging 8th ranked Burevestnik (6-5) 92-90 on Thursday evening. Strangely Burevestnik outrebounded Kupol-Rodniki 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by power forward Evgeny Fidiy (208-91, agency: Octagon Europe) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Alexey Vzdykhalkin (191-85) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by guard Aleksei Ermolovich (192-98) did not help to save the game for Burevestnik. Center Ivan Nelyubov (206-88, agency: Alti Sport) added 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kupol-Rodniki have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 8-6 record, which they share with Novosybirsk. Burevestnik at the other side keeps the eighth place with five games lost. Kupol-Rodniki will play against higher ranked Runa Basket (#3) in Moscow in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Burevestnik will play at home against MBA Moscow (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
