It looked good early as Apollon took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then AEK Larnaca had a 24-16 second period charge getting the lead and Apollon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-88. Even a double-double of 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by power forward Jeff Allen (201-87, college: Virginia Tech) did not help to save the game for Apollon. Guard Derrick Gordon (190-91, college: Seton Hall, agency: Wasserman) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. AEK Larnaca have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 12-3 record having just one point less than leader Keravnos. Apollon at the other side keeps the third place with four games lost. AEK Larnaca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Apollon will play at home against the league's leader Keravnos and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
