Regular Season Round 11: APOP Paphou - Etha 69-93

Bottom-ranked APOP Paphou (0-10) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their tenth consecutive match to fourth ranked Etha (5-4) 93-69. The game was mostly controlled by Etha. APOP Paphou was better in third quarter 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Etha outrebounded APOP Paphou 56-25 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Maya Brewer (180, college: Wichita St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Panayiota Kyriakou (177-3) accounted for 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Five Etha players scored in double figures. American guard Miyah Barnes (165-98, college: UAB) came up with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Antonia Kaizer added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for APOP Paphou in the defeat. Etha moved-up to third place, which they share with Phoenix. APOP Paphou lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Etha will play against league's second-placed AEL in Limassol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. APOP Paphou will play on the road against ENAD (#6) in Nicosia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
