No shocking result in a game when second ranked Khimki-2 (19-7) smashed at home 9th ranked Samara-2 (11-15) 94-74. It looked good early as Samara-2 took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Khimki-2 had a 24-14 second period charge getting the lead and Samara-2 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-94. They outrebounded Samara-2 47-31 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Khimki-2 shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Maksim Beloshapko (199-2) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Center Dmitrii Kadoshnikov (202-1, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Khimki-2's coach let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Center Maxim Vlasov (202-2) came up with 9 points and 9 rebounds and forward Alexander Kalashnikov (196-2) added 16 points respectively for Samara-2 in the defeat. Five Khimki-2 and four Samara-2 players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Khimki-2. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. Samara-2 lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth place with 15 games lost. Khimki-2's next round opponent will be Zenit-2 (#3) in Sankt Petersburg, which may be the game of the day. Samara-2 will play at home against Runa-2 (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
