Regular Season Round 12: Etha - ENAD 62-48

There was no surprise in Nicosia where 6th ranked ENAD (2-9) was defeated by third ranked Etha (6-4) 62-48. It looked good early as ENAD took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Etha had a 20-14 second period charge getting the lead and ENAD was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 48-62. Etha dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to ENAD's 24. Etha had a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American guard Maya Brewer (180, college: Wichita St.) who led her team to a victory with 26 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Panayiota Kyriakou (177-3) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Canadian guard Madison Torresin (183-96, college: W.Chester) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds and guard Revekka Christodoulou (170-2) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for ENAD. Etha maintains third position with 6-4 record having six points less than leader Anorthosis. ENAD lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Etha will play against league's second-placed AEL in Limassol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. ENAD will play at home against APOP Paphou (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
