Regular Season Round 27: Kaposvari - Atomeromu 79-75

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kaposvar, where 4th placed Atomeromu (11-7) lost to twelfth ranked Kaposvari (6-12) in a road game 75-79. It was a great shooting night for Kaposvari especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Atomeromu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Morris Curry (178-87, college: Providence) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 assists. His fellow American import guard Demetre Rivers (203-95, college: Mercer) accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Winston Shepard (203-93, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) came up with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and the former international power forward Janos Eilingsfeld (198-91) added 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Atomeromu in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atomeromu's coach Branislav Dzunic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kaposvari maintains twelfth place with 6-12 record. Atomeromu at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Kaposvari's next round opponent will be higher ranked PVSK-Veolia (#9) in Pecs and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atomeromu will play on the road against JP-Auto JKSE (#14) in Jaszberenyi and hope to win that game.
