Regular Season Round 27: Lokomotiv-2 - Khimki-2 76-75

The most exciting game of round 27 in the VTB-Youth League took place in Krasnodar. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of second-best Khimki-2 (20-10) to first ranked Lokomotiv-2 (23-7) 76-75 in the game for the first place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Khimki-2 won fourth quarter 23-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 26 personal fouls committed by Khimki-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for guard Daniil Sereda (196-1) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points. Forward Danil Sheyanov (202-3) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Armenian forward Alexey Chizhenok (198-1) with 19 points and 5 rebounds and forward Maksim Beloshapko (199-2) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Khimki-2's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Lokomotiv-2 have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 23-7 record. Khimki-2 at the other side keeps the second position with ten games lost. Lokomotiv-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Khimki-2 will play at home against N.Novgorod-2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
