Regular Season Round 13: AEL - Etha 63-57

An interesting game for AEL (8-3) which hosted in Limassol 3rd placed Etha (6-5). Second ranked AEL managed to get a 6-point victory 63-57. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Etha. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. AEL looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Petra Orlovic (178-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Anthia Papadouri (168-93) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Point guard Ioanna Kyprianou (160-3) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard Maya Brewer (180, college: Wichita St.) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Etha. Defending champion maintains second place with 8-3 record having just three points less than leader Anorthosis. Etha at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. AEL are looking forward to face bottom-ranked APOP Paphou (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Etha will play against Phoenix (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
