Regular Season Round 28: Khimki-2 - N.Novgorod-2 72-55

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Khimki. Second ranked Khimki-2 faced 4th ranked N.Novgorod-2. Host Khimki-2 (21-11) defeated guests from Nizhny Novgorod (18-14) 72-55. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of N.Novgorod-2. N.Novgorod-2 was ahead by 1 point at the halftime before a 41-23 second half run of Khimki-2. They made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 N.Novgorod-2 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Vladislav Odinokov (203-0) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Forward Maksim Beloshapko (199-2) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Ilya Sorokin (206-1, agency: Alti Sport) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and center Stepan Gontar (211-2) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for N.Novgorod-2. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimki-2 maintains second position with 21-11 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Lokomotiv-2. N.Novgorod-2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with 14 games lost. Khimki-2 will play against Unics-2 (#11) in Kazan in the next round and are hoping to win another game. N.Novgorod-2 will play on the road against Parma-2 (#8) in Perm and hopes to get back on the winning track.
