Rather predictable result when fifth ranked CSKA Junior (18-12) rolled over 7th ranked Avtodor-2 (16-18) in Moscow 93-60 on Monday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 19-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-60. CSKA Junior dominated on the defensive end, holding Avtodor-2 to just 5 points in second quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Avtodor-2's 30. CSKA Junior forced 20 Avtodor-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 46-21 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Maksim Makarov (201-3) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and guard Vladimir Karpenko (192-0) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds. Five CSKA Junior players scored in double figures. Guard Sergey Polstyanov (189-2) came up with 21 points and forward Andrey Ivanov (198-3) added 14 points respectively for Avtodor-2 in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for CSKA Junior. They moved-up to fourth place. Avtodor-2 lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the eighth position with 18 games lost. CSKA Junior will meet at home Samara-2 (#7) in the next round. Avtodor-2 will have a break next round.
