Regular Season Round 19: Neftekhimik T. - Metallurg MGN 79-95

Very predictable result in Tobolsk where fourth ranked Metallurg MGN (12-6) defeated bottom-ranked Neftekhimik T. (4-13) 95-79. Metallurg MGN dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Neftekhimik T.'s 34. It was a great shooting night for Metallurg MGN especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for forward Ivan Feshchenko (200-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Point guard Ilya Podobedov (191-91) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Point guard Taras Klyundikov (190-95) came up with 30 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) and center Kirill Arkhipov (201-96) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Neftekhimik T. in the defeat. Five Metallurg MGN and four Neftekhimik T. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Metallurg MGN maintains fourth place with 12-6 record. Neftekhimik T. lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. They share it with Mitsu B.. Metallurg MGN will play against Rusichi K. (#9) in Kursk in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Neftekhimik T. will play on the road against Mitsu B. in Lipetsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
