Regular Season Round 20: Mitsu B. - Neftekhimik T. 58-105

Bottom-ranked Neftekhimik T. managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the five-game losing streak. This time they outleveled tenth-ranked Mitsu B. in Lipetsk 105-58. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 47-point difference proves that Neftekhimik T. was well-prepared to that game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Mitsu B.'s 26. Neftekhimik T. forced 22 Mitsu B. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Mitsu B.'s players. Forward Igor Ermakov (200-94) orchestrated the victory by scoring 27 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Leonid Nikitenko (190-92) contributed with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Neftekhimik T. players scored in double figures. Neftekhimik T.'s coach Dmitriy Tarakanov felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Konstantin Breev (195-83) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mitsu B.Neftekhimik T. (5-13) moved-up to ninth place. Mitsu B. lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with 14 games lost. Neftekhimik T. will play against league's leader Tambov on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mitsu B. will play against Cheb.Yastreby (#4) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
