Ninth-ranked AEL made lots of trouble for APOP in Limassol. The visitors from Paphou managed to secure only seven-point victory 98-91. However their fans expected easier game. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But AEL won second period 26-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where AEL used huge pressure winning it 23-20 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 9-16. APOP made 19-of-21 charity shots (90.5 percent) during the game. American point guard TJ Washington (183-96, college: Utah Valley) orchestrated the victory by scoring 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 7 assists. The other American import guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: ETSU, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American power forward Damani Applewhite (203-97, college: SC State) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and the former international swingman Iraklis Pittakas (192-84) added 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for AEL. Five AEL players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
