Undefeated leader Rostov delivered the twenty third consecutive win on Monday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Spartak SP (11-12) 83-46. Rostov dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak SP's 24. They outrebounded Spartak SP 65-33 including a 27-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was power forward Veronika Pavliuchenko (184-1, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) who scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. The former international power forward Anna Zaitceva (182-99) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five Rostov players scored in double figures. Center Alexandra Kuzmitskaya (193-2) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Darya Silanova (182-2) added 6 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rostov (23-0) have an impressive 23-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 23 victories in a row. Spartak SP at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Chernye Medv.. Rostov are looking forward to face Chernye Medv. (#7) in Sankt Petersburg in the next round where they are favorite. Spartak SP will play on the road against Peresvet in Shahmy and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
