Rather expected game when 11th ranked Unics-2 (8-32) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Samara-2 (19-21) 86-79 on Sunday. Unics-2 was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 26-18 charge of Samara-2, which allowed them to win the game. Unics-2 was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Danila Chikarev (197-1) fired 35 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Center Maxim Vlasov (202-2) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Konstantin Ekimov (205-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Samara-2 maintains eighth position with 19-21 record. Unics-2 lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 32 games lost. Samara-2 will face higher ranked N.Novgorod-2 (#4) in Nizhny Novgorod in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Unics-2 will play on the road against Avtodor-2 (#9) in Saratov and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
