No shocking result in a game when DEAC (3-0) beat Alba (1-2) in Debrecen 88-73 on Friday. DEAC made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for DEAC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Slovenian guard Miha Lapornik (194-93) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 4 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Serbian swingman Djordje Drenovac (201-92) accounted for 15 points for the winning side. Five DEAC players scored in double figures. DEAC's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International point guard Marcell Pongo (194-97, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American center Baylee Steele (211-97, college: Duquesne) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Alba in the defeat. DEAC will meet Szolnok (#6) on the road in the next round. Alba will play against Hubner NBS and hope to win that game.
