Regular Season Round 5: Kaposvari - Atomeromu 74-90

There was a surprise result when twelfth ranked Atomeromu (2-3) defeated on the road higher ranked Kaposvari (2-3) 90-74 on Saturday. Atomeromu made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The game was also dominated by American players. Point guard Ken Brown (180-89, college: Philander Smith, agency: BIG) stepped up and scored 15 points, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners and forward Cleveland Melvin (203-91, college: DePaul) chipped in 21 points. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Forward Wayne Martin (201-93, college: Tennessee St.) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Nimrod Hilliard IV (183-93, college: NCCU) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Atomeromu moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Kaposvari. Atomeromu will meet at home ZTE KK (#13) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kaposvari will play against the league's leader Szombathely (#1) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
