Regular Season Round 1: Anagennises - Anorthosis 59-71

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Anagennises in Limassol on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by Anorthosis 71-59. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 71-59. Anorthosis looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Diana Delva (187-88, college: Hartford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international forward Tijana Raca (183-97, college: Wyoming) contributed with 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Anorthosis' coach Aristos Aristou used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Cassidy Mihalko (180-95, college: CBU) answered with 30 points and naturalized Bulgarian power forward Styliana Velinova (192-0) added 17 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Anagennises. Anorthosis is looking forward to face Zinonas in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Anagennises' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Limassol to the arena AEL.
