Regular Season Round 2: Zinonas - Anorthosis 52-72

The game in supposed to be also quite interesting. Anorthosis played at the court of Zinonas. Anorthosis did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 72-52 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Anorthosis. Zinonas managed to win fourth quarter 15-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Zinonas to just 6 points in third quarter. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Antria Pitsilidou (167-89) who scored 19 points and 4 steals. Naturalized Greek point guard Bianca Ioannou (165-3) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Michaela Thoma (175-3) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Romanian guard Andra-Elena Panainte (160-4) added 8 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Anorthosis will meet at home AEL in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zinonas will play against ENAD in Nicosia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
