Regular Season Round 4: E.N. Paralimni - AEL 86-73
Date: October 23, 2021
Very expected game when 8th ranked AEL (1-3) lost on the road to top-ranked E.N. Paralimni (4-0) 86-73 on Saturday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. E.N. Paralimni outrebounded AEL 47-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by Ghanian-American guard Milan Acquaah (190-97, college: CBU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists and American power forward Austin Burgett (206-93, college: Notre Dame) supported him with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Four E.N. Paralimni players scored in double figures. Even 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) by American point guard Brandon Averette (180-97, college: BYU) did not help to save the game for AEL. His fellow American import forward Corey Manigault (206-98, college: N.Mexico) added 20 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. E.N. Paralimni have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with AEK Larnaca. Loser AEL dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. They share the position with Achilleas K. and Omonia. E.N. Paralimni will meet bottom-ranked ENAD (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. AEL will play against Etha and hope to win that game.
