Regular Season Round 4: Anorthosis - Keravnos 63-79

Another interesting game for Keravnos (3-1) which played on the court of one of their biggest challengers Anorthosis (2-2). Fourth ranked Keravnos had an easy win 79-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Anorthosis. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Anorthosis was better in second period 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos shot 23 for 31 from the free-throw line, while Anorthosis only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Anorthosis 45-33 including 34 on the defensive glass. Anorthosis was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Deondre Burns (190-97, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (made all of his fifteen free throws !!!) and American forward Collin Malcolm (200-97, college: WPU) who added 18 points and 15 rebounds during the contest. Malcolm is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Orlando Parker (203-91, college: Wagner) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Michael Mallory (185-94, college: S.Connecticut) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Keravnos have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Newly promoted Anorthosis dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Keravnos will play against APOP (#8) in Paphou in the next round where they are favorite. Anorthosis will play on the road against the league's leader AEK Larnaca (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
