There was an upset in Saratov where much higher ranked Unics-2 (5-2) was defeated by sixth ranked Avtodor-2 (3-4) 95-89 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 30-17 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Vytalius Pranauskis (193-2) fired 34 points (!!!) and 4 assists for the winners. Center Andrey Pechkin (206-2) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Sergey Polstyanov (194-2) produced 20 points and 4 assists and guard Anatoly Gunter (183-3) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Avtodor-2 maintains sixth place with 3-4 record, which they share with CSKA Junior. Loser Unics-2 dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Runa-2. Avtodor-2 will meet higher ranked Runa-2 (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Unics-2 will play against Khimki-2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
