Very expected game when 9th ranked Spartak Vidnoye (1-4) was smashed at home by leader UMMC (5-0) 87-46 on Sunday. UMMC dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Vidnoye's 24. UMMC had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Spartak Vidnoye's players. International center Maria Vadeeva (193-98) nailed 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-94, college: GWU) accounted for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five UMMC players scored in double figures. Polina Fedorova (189-95) came up with 7 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sevara Nuritdinova (165-98) added 4 points respectively for Spartak Vidnoye in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for UMMC. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Nika. Loser Spartak Vidnoye dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Dynamo M. and Samara. UMMC will meet at home Enisey Krasnoyarsk (#4) in the next round. Spartak Vidnoye will play against Dynamo NR (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
