Regular Season Round 4: Keravnos - Anorthosis 41-62

Division A top team - Anorthosis (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked Keravnos (1-3) in Nicosia 62-41. The game was mostly controlled by Anorthosis. Keravnos was better in third quarter 10-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Keravnos 43-23 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of the former international point guard Christiana Menelaou (158-90) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 assists and American center Diana Delva (187-88, college: Hartford) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side guard Panagiota Kyriakou (177-3) responded with 15 points and 4 steals and guard Katerina Kontou (179-3) scored 5 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anorthosis have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 4-0 record. Keravnos lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth place with three games lost. Anorthosis will play against ENAD (#4) in Nicosia in the next round. Keravnos will play on the road against AEL in Limassol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
