Regular Season Round 8: Dynamo-En.IVA - MBA-2 62-97
Date: November 2, 2021
Everything could happen in Ivanovo at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked MBA-2 and 10th ranked Dynamo-En.IVA had identical 1-6 record. But Dynamo-En.IVA was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Moscow 97-62 on Tuesday night. MBA-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo-En.IVA's 32 and made 24-of-26 free shots (92.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Dynamo-En.IVA 55-26 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by Valeria Yakovleva who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds and forward Ekaterina Koshechkina (189-2) supported her with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by swingman Anastasya Alexeeva (181-95) did not help to save the game for Dynamo-En.IVA. Swingman Alexandra Chuprova (175-0) added 7 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. MBA-2 (2-6) moved-up to ninth place. Dynamo-En.IVA lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with seven games lost. MBA-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Dynamo-En.IVA will play against Chevakata (#3) in Vologda and hope to win that game.
