Regular Season Round 9: MBA-2 - Avtodor-2 95-71

No shocking result in a game when second ranked MBA-2 (7-2) crushed 8th ranked Avtodor-2 (3-6) in Moscow 95-71. The game was mostly controlled by MBA-2. Avtodor-2 was better in fourth quarter 12-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. MBA-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Avtodor-2's 34. MBA-2 forced 24 Avtodor-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including 32 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Avtodor-2's players. Avtodor-2 was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Center Vladimir Tkachenko (201-2) stepped up and scored 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and forward Ivan Zimin (191-3) chipped in 14 points and 6 assists. Four MBA-2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Andrey Pechkin (206-2) with 16 points and 4 assists and forward Andrey Fedorov (198-3) scored 17 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA-2 keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Runa-2. Avtodor-2 lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Samara-2 and Lokomotiv-2. MBA-2 will again play against Avtodor-2 (#9) in Saratov in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Avtodor-2 will have a break next round.
