The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Runa-2 as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Runa-2 smashed 7th ranked Samara-2 in Moscow 79-36. The game without a history. Runa-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Samara-2 to just 3 points in fourth quarter. Runa-2 held Samara-2 to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.5 percent accuracy of the winners. Runa-2 forced 23 Samara-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Samara-2's players. It was a good game for forward Artem Shlegel (201-3) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Forward Sergey Grashkin (201-2) contributed with 9 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Serafim Shkurin (187-2) answered with 11 points and forward Alexander Kalashnikov (196-2) added 7 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Samara-2. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Runa-2 (7-2) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with MBA-2. Samara-2 at the other side keeps the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Avtodor-2 and Lokomotiv-2. Samara-2 will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Runa-2 will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Samara-2 at home.
