Regular Season Round 9: Szedeak - Szombathely 75-91

A Division top team - Szombathely (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat tenth ranked Szedeak (3-5) in Szeged 91-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Szedeak. It was a good game for international guard Benedek Varadi (194-95) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Adam Somogyi (192-0) contributed with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Szombathely players scored in double figures. American guard Keandre Cook (196-97, college: Missouri St.) answered with 23 points and the other American import guard Tayler Persons (191-95, college: Ball St.) added 21 points in the effort for Szedeak. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Szombathely have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 10-0 record. Szedeak at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Szombathely are looking forward to face Atomeromu (#13) in Paks in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Szedeak will play on the road against DEAC in Debrecen and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
