Regular Season Round 7: AEL - Achilleas K. 90-65

Rather predictable result when eighth ranked AEL (3-4) rolled over 11th ranked Achilleas K. (1-6) in Limassol 90-65 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by AEL. Achilleas K. managed to win third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American players dominated also this game. It was an exceptional evening for forward Corey Manigault (206-98, college: N.Mexico) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. Point guard Brandon Averette (180-97, college: BYU) accounted for 27 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Guard Isiah Brown (188, college: Weber St.) came up with 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Elvis Harvey (203-97, college: Nicholls St.) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Achilleas K. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEL moved-up to sixth place, which they share with APOP and Anorthosis. Achilleas K. lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with ENAD. AEL will meet at home bottom-ranked ENAD (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Achilleas K. will play against Anorthosis and hope to win that game.
