Undefeated leader Anorthosis delivered the sixth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Zinonas (0-6) 76-48 in Larnaca. The game without a history. Anorthosis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Zinonas' 22. They outrebounded Zinonas 49-34 including 19 on the offensive glass. Anorthosis looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Zinonas' players. The former international forward Tijana Raca (183-97, college: Wyoming) scored 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American center Diana Delva (187-88, college: Hartford) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Michaela Thoma (175-3) with 16 points and guard Lidia Sofokleous (178-2) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Anorthosis (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Newly promoted Zinonas still closes the standings with six games lost. Anorthosis will meet AEL (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Zinonas will play against ENAD and hopes to get finally their first victory.
