Very expected game in Nicosia where 10th ranked Etha (2-6) was crushed by second ranked AEK Larnaca (7-1) 105-77 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 105-77. AEK Larnaca dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Etha's 28. They outrebounded Etha 42-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. AEK Larnaca looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Etha's players. Americans were the main players on the court. Etha's coach Dimitris Papadopoulos gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion used an opportunity after E.N. Paralimni lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Etha lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with six games lost. They share the position with Achilleas K.. AEK Larnaca will meet at home Omonia (#5) in the next round. Etha will play against Apollon (#9) in Limassol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
