Very predictable result when fifth ranked MBA (4-2) defeated on the road 11th ranked Rostov (1-6) 59-50 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was international center Zhosselina Maiga (192-96) who scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. International center Nina Glonti (188-97, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 7 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Anastasiia Maksimova (180-92) who recorded 15 points and power forward Ekaterina Gunchenko (186-98, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. MBA moved-up to fourth place. Rostov lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. MBA will meet at home bottom-ranked Spartak Noginsk (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rostov will play against Samara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
