There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Dynamo NR (2-3) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Spartak Vidnoye (2-4) 104-96 on Thursday. Spartak Vidnoye made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was Polina Fedorova (189-95) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Daria Ignatova (180-0) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Five Spartak Vidnoye players scored in double figures. Spartak Vidnoye's coach Sergei Danilin used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Chloe Wells (173-92, college: Duke, agency: LBM Management) who recorded 24 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-91, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) added 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Spartak Vidnoye maintains eighth position with 2-4 record, which they share with Dynamo M. Loser Dynamo NR dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. Spartak Vidnoye will meet higher ranked Nika (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Dynamo NR will play against the league's second-placed UMMC (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
