There was an upset in Chelyabinsk where higher ranked Chelbasket (6-4) was defeated by tenth ranked Mitsu B. (3-9) 86-69 on Sunday. Mitsu B. forced 19 Chelbasket turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Pavel Krykov (210-84) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Dmitriy Rytenko (201-89) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Mitsu B. players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Andrey Kurchenko (201-98) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and Andrey Loginov (204-93) added 15 points and 4 steals respectively. Chelbasket's coach Evgeniy Sorokin tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Mitsu B. moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Dynamo STV. Loser Chelbasket dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Mitsu B. will meet higher ranked Metallurg MGN (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Chelbasket will play against the league's leader Tambov where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
